Trademarks

Proceedings of the trademark application are held according to the Law No. 555/1997 Coll. as amended by legal prescriptions 457/2001 and Decree No. 117/1997.

Following documents are required to file the trademark:

· The title of the designation, in case of word designation in standard writing.
· Drawing up the designation, in case of non-standard word designation.
· Drawing up the figurative or combined designation (in .jpg or .pdf form preferably).
· Specification of the form of application - in black and white or colour form.
· Data concerning the applicant.
· Products and services which protection is demanded for.
· The signed Power of Attorney.

· Search of identical trademarks (word, figurative).
· Drawing up applications of trademarks of company logo, company name and filing of the trademark application with the Slovak Intellectual Office.
· Filing of a IR trademark with the WIPO.
· Filing of a CTM application with the OHIM.
· Compiling objections to the entry into register of national and internationally registered trademarks for the Slovak Republic territory.
· Compiling the answer to the objections to the trademark entry into the register of the national and internationally registered trademarks for the region of the Slovak. Republic.
· Drawing up the proposal for a trademark cancellation.

· Continued prosecution of the applications of the confusingly similar trademarks published in the Official Journal and the internationally registered trademarks for the Slovak Republic published in the International Journal.
· Continued prosecution of the legal status - ensuring the renewing of a trademark.
· Compiling the opinion to the preliminary refusal of the protection of an Internationally registered trademark.
· Drawing up the licence contract for usage of a trademark.
· Drawing up the assignment agreement of a trademark.
· Drawing up the request of a recordal of change in the name or place of business of an owner of a trademark.
